Mammoth Gold is mined using water, motion and gravity. Like the stampeders in the Klondike Gold Rush of 1896, placer miners still use gold pans to seperate gold flakes and nuggets from alluvial gravels.

Ethical Gold

Sustainable, Responsible, Fair

Our gold comes from ethical mining sources.

Through our Ethical Gold Certification Program, Yukon placer miners can voluntarily apply to be producers of Mammoth Gold.  Our certification is rooted in our values of sustainability, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, fair practices; and a program which is transparent and accountable.

Ethical gold has been sourced from mines that have implemented commendable environmental and socio-economic practices.  While over the past decade the “green or eco” concepts have evolved to include all areas of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, at Mammoth Tusk Gold we have chosen to label our gold “ethical” to clearly show that our commitment includes environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

Certified producers of Mammoth Gold are placer miners from the Yukon. These miners choose to work in the Yukon gold fields because of the lifestyle it affords them. Many of our producers were raised as gold miners and are teaching their children how to mine responsibly and sustainably. Mammoth Tusk Gold is proud to support this special and unique group of people who mine taking commendable care for the environment and actively participate in their communities.

Our Ethical Gold Certification is a program developed by Mammoth Tusk Gold for our suppliers. It is a voluntary program with performance standards developed specifically for Yukon placer mines. It is designed to be achievable, practical and transparent. It provides our buyers with an assurance that “Mammoth Gold” was sourced from mines with a commitment to sustainability. This commitment includes:

The mine complies with acceptable environmental and socio-economic economic standards;

The mine implements sustainable best practices;

The mine shows a high regard for its workers;

The mine has a positive impact on local communities; and,

There is a commitment to continual improvement, and reducing their carbon footprint.
